Stevens Institute of Technology is a premier, innovative research university founded in 1870 with a current enrollment of about 3,400 Undergraduate and 3,500 Graduate students. Students are engaged in learning and research in variety of technical fields.
Stevens is located in Hoboken, New Jersey, across the Hudson River from Manhattan. The city boasts spectacular views of the New York City skyline from its waterfront, and countless options for dining and shopping. The most economical and fastest way to/from Manhattan is by Path or NY Waterway Ferry (see more information on how to get to Stevens campus, below).
The 2019 ISPTS Conference will be held at the Wesley J. Howe Center located at the North Campus of Stevens, at the top of the hill on Castle Point Terrace. For details on session locations, visit the Program page.
Public Transportation
Please click on your preferred mode of transportation – PATH Train, Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, NJ Transit Bus (Bus Routes 22, 85, 87 and 126), NJ Transit Commuter Rail, or NY Waterway Ferry Service. Input your location for step by step directions to Stevens. The campus is a 10-minute walk from Hoboken Terminal, and about a 20-minute walk from 14th Street Ferry Terminal.
Travel to Campus from Newark International Airport
Take the Air Train to Newark Airport Railroad Station (1 stop). Transfer to a train stopping at Newark Penn Station (1 stop). Once at Newark Penn Station, take a PATH train to the hotels in Jersey City or to Hoboken (1-3 stops). Check PATH map
The Courtyard Hotel and DoubleTree Hotel are near the PATH Newport Station. Candlewood Suites is near both the PATH Newport Station and PATH Exchange Place Station. The Ramada by Wyndham is near the PATH Journal Square Station.
Once in Hoboken, take the 10-minute walk uptown along Frank Sinatra Dr. or River St. to Stevens campus.
The Howe Center is the 13-story building at the top of the hill on Castle Point (upper campus). The Babbio Center is the 5-story building at the corner of River and 6th Streets on the lower campus.
Campus Parking
Please email ispts2019@stevens.edu if you plan to drive to campus for the conference. Parking is limited and we will do our best to accommodate your request. *Overnight parking is not permitted.
Accommodations
The 2019 ISPTS Conference has contracted a special rate with Ramada by Wyndham in Jersey City, a town next to Hoboken. Standard rooms start at $119/night (plus 16.625% tax). The hotel provides free shuttle to/from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). Pick up location at P4 every half hour from 5:30 am to 10:30 pm (note: take the tram to P4 stop and take escalator down).
