Is AI a threat to democracy? Will it become smarter than humans and overtake jobs? Many Americans think so, yet they believe its benefits outweigh its risks.
That is according to the Stevens TechPulse Report: A Perspective on Americans' Attitudes Toward Artificial Intelligence, the first in a new survey series conducted on behalf of Stevens Institute of Technology by Morning Consult to elucidate public understanding, acceptance and concerns about emerging technology and its impact on humanity and society.
The inaugural survey examined the views of 2,200 Americans on a wide range of AI-related issues — from loss of privacy and facial recognition to deepfakes and self-driving cars.
