Dear Colleague,
The catastrophic health and environmental effects of PFAS, sometimes referred to as “forever chemicals,” require revolutionary solutions. Stevens Institute of Technology, with research partner universities, has secured funding from the Environmental Protection Agency to develop a groundbreaking system that combines quantum science and advanced materials to detect and degrade these harmful compounds.
This project represents a convergence of Stevens' commitment to both environmental sustainability and technological innovation. Our approach integrates advanced quantum detection with novel materials science to create a unified platform for addressing the PFAS challenge.
This research is one example of Stevens’ broader commitment to sustainability. Through our Stevens Center for Sustainability, established with generous support from the PSEG Foundation, we’re advancing solutions across multiple disciplines – from green remediation technologies and sustainable materials to smarter power grids and renewable energy sources.
I encourage you to learn more about the Stevens Center for Sustainability at stevens.edu/stevens-center-for-sustainability and to contact me if your institution is interested in exploring future collaborations.
Best regards,
