Dr. Jean Zu Named Dean of School of Engineering & Science

Dr. Jean Zu has been appointed Dean of Stevens' Charles V. Schaefer, Jr. School of Engineering & Science after an intensive international search. Zu, currently chair of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto and an accomplished scholar of mechanical vibrations and dynamics and mechatronics, begins her appointment May 1.

Ocean / Extreme Weather Researcher Awarded Fulbright

Dr. Julie Pullen, a Stevens associate professor of ocean engineering, has been selected for a Fulbright award to travel to the Philippines, where she will refine linked air/sea/land/river models she helped develop to forecast rainfall and warn populations in areas at risk for flooding and landslides. Pullen will embark on her five-month project in January 2018.

Moody's, S&P Raise Stevens' Credit Outlook

Citing strong applications growth and high-quality programs, two of the nation's premier financial rating agencies each raised Stevens' outlook in recent reporting.

Stevens President Nariman Farvardin was named to NJBIZ's Power 100, an annual catalog of the state's most powerful people.


Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Christophe Pierre was named a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors.


Alumnus Brian Donohue '11, now at Pinterest and formerly CEO of Instapaper, was named to Forbes' prestigious 30 Under 30: Media list.


Senior student-athlete Amy Regan '17 captured the NCAA Division III cross-country crown in Louisville, Kentucky — her sixth NCAA national title.


University of Pennsylvania professor Shaun Harper, a noted race and equity scholar, spoke at Stevens January 26, issuing a call to higher education to take proactive approaches to race relations and equity.
