Stevens Welcomes Class of 2020

With tremendous excitement, Stevens welcomed nearly 800 new students to campus during orientation. The incoming freshman class features a diverse, talented group of students from 25 states and 12 countries.

Some of the many noteworthy attributes include:

• 7% larger freshman class
• 13% increase in female students
• 4.3% increase in under-represented minorities
• 40% increase in business enrollments

Stevens on the Road - Want to learn more about the opportunities available at Stevens? During the fall, our team will be traveling throughout the country to connect with students, counselors and parents. Visit "Stevens on the Road" to view our travel map and see when one of our representatives will be in your area.

FAFSA: Prior-Prior Year - With the FAFSA changing to use prior-prior year (PPY) tax data, applicants are encouraged to submit the FAFSA by the deadline for their application round. Students can submit the FAFSA as early as October 1, 2016.

The Redesigned SAT - Applicants for the Fall 2017 entering class will have the option to submit one, or more, of three standardized testing options: ACT, the old SAT format, and the redesigned SAT format. The admissions committee will evaluate, and superscore, each test independently.

Stevens Startup Offers Hope for Improved Diabetes Care
Data Minded Solutions, a healthcare startup founded by Class of 2015 graduates, opened a new office in Hoboken, New Jersey. Its flagship software, Embrace, is a decision-management platform that helps patients manage chronic diseases such as diabetes.

Stevens Professor Named Artist-in-Residence at Nokia Bell Labs
The appointment of Jeff Thompson, assistant professor and director of the Visual Arts and Technology program, will help revive the arts and technology collaboration that Bell Labs made famous in the 1960s when it created groundbreaking artworks and performances incorporating new technologies.

Stevens Venture Center Nurtures Student Entrepreneurs
As part of an ongoing strategic effort to expand and redefine the entrepreneurial experience at Stevens, the new Venture Center will provide resources and support to help students, faculty and alumni develop their ideas and projects into successful businesses.

Stevens Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon Wins Coveted 'Chapter of Distinction' Award
The award, given annually to individuals, groups and organizations who exemplify excellence in the fraternity industry through their leadership, service and fraternal values, marks the first time a Stevens Greek fraternity or sorority has received such an honor.

Stevens to Host First Annual Conference on Reimagining Calculus Education
The conference will focus on improving the success rate of calculus students (high school and college level) through innovative teaching and learning strategies. Mathematics educators and curriculum developers are encouraged to attend this first annual conference.
