Project 4:

Interactive Performance Evaluation of Wireless Communications Systems

Project Description:

Ranging from voice communications to Internet e-mail and web browsing applications, we are witnessing unprecedented development in wireless systems which include cellular and PCS. This project concentrates on interactive performance evaluation of wireless systems presented in a web page environment. Specifically,

(1) Collect various performance measures of wireless systems and present the performance results (curves and plots) in a web page environment;

(2) For given performance results in mathematical forms, interactively present performance curves and plots in a web page environment

(3) For given system parameters, perform online simulation and present real-time simulation results in a web page environment

Students will learn new wireless system architectures and their applications. Will investigate wireless system performance. Will develop web page and Java Applet for performance curve/plot presentations. Will produce simulation programs for evaluating wireless system performance.

Skills required:

Java programming; Matlab; Basic web page development
