Stipend

After your arrival at Stevens, one of the first things you do is to fill an IRS form. Your stipend is paid through Stevens' payroll. You must be legal to work in U.S. You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and must have a valid Social Security Number. You also need to show a valid ID (such as a deriver license). Otherwise your payroll arrangement can not be made and you are unable to receive the stipend. If you are not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, please let me know ASAP.

Our ECE department will try to process the paperwork as quickly as possible. However due to typical approval and processing delays, your first paycheck may arrive in mid June or even end of June. Therefore, please have some petty cash ready for your one-month expenditure.

REU-Scholar and REU-Technogenesis students: Your stipend is handled directly by the institute, not by ECE department.
