The Stevens Venture Center Speaker Series presents Darren Riva, a Brand Team Lead at Pfizer. Over the past 25 years Darren held various leadership roles on several product launches at Pfizer which have become billion dollar, iconic brands. Darren’s wide experiences with U.S. Sales and Marketing, Global Marketing, Research & Development, Manufacturing and Supply Chain will provide unique insights into what professional marketers do to make a product launch successful. Darren will share insights gained from both successful and failed product launches. The session will not offer “text book” marketing advice but focus on practical actions you can take tomorrow to improve your product’s chances of success. The first key question covered; Do you have an irresistible hook? Is it pithy enough? Is it singular enough in focus? Is it truly based on customer insight or your own gut feel? Have you validated with customers before investing too much time and money? Is there an emotional bridge to building a “Brand”? (“Brand” being the ultimate goal!) Darren holds a Bachelors of Engineering from Stevens and an Executive Masters in Technology Management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
