SELECTED FACULTY HONORS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

Woo Lee, Chemistry and Chemical Biology (SES), received the Thomas Edison Patent Award from the Research & Development Council of New Jersey, along with former doctoral student Linh Le and alumnus De Kong '11. They received the award in Technology Transfer for their U.S. patent, "Graphene-based Films in Sensor Applications."

Alex Wellerstein (CAL), was quoted by The New York Times in a story about America's response to the Soviet Union's detonation of the Tsar Bomb, the world's most powerful nuclear weapon.

Raju Datla, Civil, Environmental and Ocean Engineering (SES), was elected a Fellow of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME).

Majeed Simaan (SB) was quoted by Money magazine in an article on the rise of Eagle Investors.

Athula Attygalle, Chemistry and Chemical Biology (SES), received the Arnold Berliner Award 2021 from Springer for his research appearing in The Science of Nature.

Dean Kelland Thomas (CAL) was interviewed by Lifewire on how AI can be used to complement our own creative efforts but not replace human creativity.

Rajarathnam Chandramouli and K.P. "Suba" Subbalakshmi, Electrical and Computer Engineering (SES), were selected to compete in the Hyperspace Challenge funded by the U.S. Space Force and AFRL Space Vehicles Directorate.

Mukund Iyengar, Electrical and Computer Engineering (SES) and director of the iSTEM program, was quoted by CNBC in a feature on how to use social media to launch a business.

The U.S. Army has awarded a $7 million contract to 12 Stevens faculty to collaborate on the development of quantum systems and related AI technologies.
