Have you filed both financial aid forms required by Stevens? The Office of Financial Aid at Stevens requires both the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the College Scholarship Service Profile (CSS Profile). Both must be submitted to Stevens by February 15th in order to be considered for all institutional aid and federal need-based aid.

Alumna Leads Digital Production for Madison Avenue Ad Agency

Stevens alumna Ann Marie Guanlao McCaughey '05 - a talented and bubbly Madison Avenue digital producer - found her niche through Stevens' Cooperative Education program, which provides students with full-time, paid work experience at start-up to Fortune 500 companies. Today, McCaughey is living her dream, developing and designing beautiful, user-friendly and highly-trafficked websites for Merck, State Farm and other major clients of DDB Worldwide, a New York City-based advertising agency.

Stevens STEM Ambassadors Promote Diversity in Technical Fields

The Stevens STEM Ambassadors, members of a new pilot program led by Stevens undergraduates, are doing their part to promote diversity in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) by conducting on- and off-campus outreach programs to drum up interest in STEM fields. Their goal is to attract more women and minorities, who are persistently underrepresented in technical fields.

Stevens Revolutionizes Calculus Instruction
|
"We've made problem solving interactive," says Dr. Alexei Miasnikov, distinguished professor and department director of mathematical sciences. "We don't want them just to do exercises. They have to think. We help teach students through a natural process." With Stevens' new approach to calculus instruction, the passing rate has already dramatically risen to 97 percent. Students also retain a deeper understanding of mathematical principles, which they carry over and translate into advanced coursework.

Cold temperatures could play a part in the ability of a player to hold onto the football during the Super Bowl on Feb. 2. Stevens researchers performed experiments to analyze how the cold affects grip strength. They found thumb-gripping power was unaffected by the cold, but the middle finger lost significant power as temperatures drop!
