Stevens Update

April 2025 • Hoboken, NJ

Welcome from Vice President Cindy Chin!

Cindy Chin

Dear Counselors,

I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the energy and excitement that spring brings! It’s a special time of year as we continue working together to support students on their academic journeys.

April has been buzzing with activity here at Stevens, and I’m thrilled to share a few updates with you. Our Admitted Student Weekend was a tremendous success, with over 2,400 admitted students and their families exploring all that Stevens has to offer. We also connected with more families through events across the U.S. and abroad, making the month even more rewarding.

This year’s admitted class is truly remarkable. We saw a 28% increase in applications for early consideration and a 5% growth in international applicants. Applications were received from all 50 states, U.S. territories and 121 countries. Among the admitted students, 17% identify as first-generation college students, nearly 150 are valedictorians, and more than 70 are National Merit Semifinalists or Commended Scholars. Additionally, many admitted students hold the Seal of Biliteracy and have achieved top honors in academic competitions or even graduated with an associate’s degree through dual enrollment programs.

We’re keeping the momentum going by hosting additional events throughout April for admitted students to engage with our community and learn more about the resources available to them. With the May 1 deposit deadline quickly approaching, we understand this can be a stressful time for students as they finalize their decisions. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if there’s anything our Stevens team can do to support them or their families.

Thank you so much for your continued partnership in guiding students toward a bright future. It’s always a pleasure working alongside you to make the college experience truly unforgettable.

All the best,
Cindy

Student Insight

Nicole Resende,
Chemical Engineering, Class of 2027

The transfer admissions team at Stevens was the best! The communication and attention they provided helped me go through this transition with ease, and they continue to support me, even now that I’m well into my first year at Stevens. I’m happy to have a dedicated advising team and to be part of a department that has helped me feel part of the school, which was a big concern for me as I was transferring.
