Stevens Update

January 2025 • Hoboken, NJ

Welcome from Vice President Cindy Chin!

Cindy Chin

Dear Colleagues,

I hope you had a wonderful holiday and happy New Year! It’s winter here in New Jersey, so I hope this message finds you enjoying warmer weather.

Since our last update, we’ve opened pre-college applications for Summer 2025, released Early Decision 1 decisions, and are now preparing for Early Decision 2, Early Action and Regular Decision. We’re also gearing up for the first of many big on-campus events for admitted students where our Enrollment Management team is excited to welcome the first group of future Ducks to campus.

Exciting things are happening throughout the university. Here are a few highlights:

  • Earlier this month, we hosted the second annual New Jersey Higher Education Mental Health Summit, where more than 400 leaders and front-line practitioners from colleges and universities across the state gathered to share best practices and to learn from one another.

  • Dr. Victor Lawrence, a Stevens professor and senior research scientist, was awarded the National Medal of Technology and Innovation by President Biden. He now joins distinguished figures like Grace Hopper, Gordon Moore and Steve Jobs as recipients of our nation's highest honor for technological achievement.

We are eager to showcase Stevens to you and your students. In the meantime, students interested in applying can submit their Regular Decision applications by Feb. 1, and the priority deadline for our Pre-College Programs is March 1.

Best wishes for 2025,
Cindy

Student Insight

Diego Sanabriga, Clark Scholar,
1/4 Biomedical Engineering Major

Visiting Stevens during my junior year made me certain I wanted to study engineering here, but I initially struggled with financial challenges that made attending seem impossible. When I received my financial aid offer, it lifted a huge burden, allowing me to pursue my engineering degree at Stevens. The Financial Aid office worked with me to make my college dreams possible!
