I am thrilled to share the attached highlights of recent achievements in enrollment and student success at Stevens Institute of Technology. Stevens is certainly a university on the rise. With record numbers of applications, growing enrollment and outstanding outcomes for our graduates, we are extremely proud of the positive impact Stevens has on the lives of our students.

Rising Demand

95% Retention RateDemand for a Stevens education continues to grow and is now at an all-time high, concurrent with a dramatic increase in the academic profile of enrolled students and in the number of enrolled students from underserved communities.

  • Applications have grown 157% between 2011 and 2018.
  • The number of first-time, full-time freshmen has risen by 81% during that same time period.

Increasing Access

Stevens StudentsNew initiatives such as Stevens ACES (Accessing Careers in Engineering and Science) and the A. James Clark Scholars Program have significantly improved access to a Stevens education for underserved and underrepresented minority students. From 2011 to 2018, the participation of these groups increased 679% in Stevens' pre-college summer programs and 154% in the freshman cohort.

Remarkable Outcomes for the Class of 2018

Graduates at CommencementUndergraduate research, entrepreneurship coursework, cooperative education, internships and extensive community service activities distinguish the Stevens undergraduate experience.

  • The Stevens Class of 2018 achieved stellar career outcomes: 96% secured intended outcomes within 6 months of graduation, and 79% of those had their plans finalized prior to graduation
  • Stevens graduates secured the highest first-destination salaries on record, with an average starting salary of $71,400.
  • An 87% six-year graduation rate shows significant progress since the 2011 rate of 79%.

Significant Return on Investment

With a career-fueling educational experience, some of the nation’s highest starting and mid-career salaries and a loan default rate significantly lower than the national average, Stevens helps students realize a robust return on their education investment. In addition, Stevens is one of only three schools in the nation where the salaries of women graduates exceed those of male graduates.
