Dear Alumni and Friends,

Last week marked the beginning of a new academic year, one that follows a period of extreme disruption, but a period during which the Stevens community came together and demonstrated extraordinary resiliency, agility and determination.

As always at this time of year, we take the opportunity to look back on our success of the past and to look ahead. This year, as we enter the final year of implementation of our 2012-2022 strategic plan, The Future. Ours to Create., we have the perspective of the last decade at Stevens, a decade characterized by remarkable, transformative progress.

I am delighted to share the story of Stevens’ steep, upward trajectory summarized in this website: rise.stevens.edu.

I am particularly excited that we are putting the finishing touches on our University Center Complex, a 1,000-bed undergraduate residence atop a state-of-the-art university center offering conference facilities, student services, dining spaces and magnificent views of the Manhattan skyline. This stunning building, scheduled to open in spring 2022, will proudly display the Stevens name on its Manhattan-facing façade — a first in Stevens’ 151-year history! We are planning for a “grand illumination” event to celebrate this momentous occasion on September 22^nd and will send more information soon.
