Stevens Institute of Technology
On The Rise

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

As we mark the beginning of another exciting and unique academic year, I offer my warm greetings from Stevens Institute of Technology.

Stevens has undergone a remarkable transformation during the last 10 years. In nearly every measure of performance, impact and productivity, the university has reached new heights of achievement: a 64% increase in undergraduate enrollment coincident with a 145-point increase in the average SAT score of incoming first-year students; a 50% increase in graduate FTE enrollment; a 91% increase in the number of women in the undergraduate cohort; a 101% increase in the number of underrepresented minority undergraduates; a 36% increase in faculty size; a 97% increase in research awards; and the successful completion of a $200 million capital campaign.

Even now, as Stevens welcomes the largest first-year class in our history, we are putting the finishing touches on a stunning new University Center Complex. This 1,000-bed undergraduate residence atop a state-of-the-art university center offers conference facilities, student services, dining spaces and magnificent views of the Manhattan skyline.

I invite you to learn more about Stevens’ transformative last decade at rise.stevens.edu.

I wish you a safe, healthy and productive fall semester.

Sincerely,

Nariman Farvardin
