Student Helps Deliver 'Miracle Baby' During Blizzard of '16

Anthony Grasso '17, a mechanical engineering major and a Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps member, was on duty during the historic January snowstorm when he and his EMS team received a 911 call to assist a Hoboken woman in labor. The rest is history.

In its annual ranking of top online graduate business degree programs, U.S. News & World Report ranked Stevens' non-MBA graduate business programs No. 33 in the nation.

STEVENS THROUGH THE YEARS

In 1937 (13 years after the first African-American student graduated from Stevens), James Sylvester Braxton graduated as one of the most active members of his class — including participation in drama, The Stute and Greek life — and embarked upon an illustrious international career in engineering. He would go on to earn a Master of City Planning degree from Harvard Graduate School of Design; receive a patent for affordable pre-manufactured housing that could be assembled in urban neighborhoods with a minimum of training; and serve in a leadership role with the Chicago area's water treatment district, which includes the world's largest wastewater treatment plant. In 1987, Braxton returned to Stevens to receive an honorary degree and credited his Stevens education with enabling him to be "more creative."
