Senator Booker hosted a panel at Stevens and shared how his experience as mayor of Newark taught him to leverage the power of social media. The theme was 'Small Business Tech and Social Innnovation' and the panel featured representatives from Facebook, Google and Yelp.

WaterBotics® Summer Camp Returns to Stevens
To the delight of many middle and high schoolers, WaterBotics made its return to the Stevens campus for three weeks in July. Students from around the state learned engineering principles using LEGOs to design and build robots that can be manipulated underwater.

Annual Giving Remains Robust: $22 million Raised, Participation Rising
For the second consecutive year, Stevens received more than $22 million in philanthropic support to close out a very successful year in fundraising.

Alumni Weekend 2014 — A Rousing Success
Celebrating Stevens’ 94th year, the theme was “Ad Astra” (to reach for the stars). With more than 800 attending, the Stevens Alumni Association broke event attendance records. Kenneth Venner ’84 gave a talk on how his employer, SpaceX, is leading the space industry into new territory.

SpiderRadio: Wireless Communication When Disaster Hits
Professors Rajarathnam Chandramouli and Suba Subbalakshmi have developed an Internet cloud-controlled cognitive wireless router called SpiderRadio for supporting rural broadband and robust public safety communications.

Systems Engineering Reaches The White House
Dr. William Rouse, Director of the Center for Complex Systems and Enterprises (CCSE), was part of a prestigious team that collaborated to establish systems engineering tools and approaches to recommend in a report to the nation’s leading scientists and engineers who make policy recommendations to President Barack Obama.
