Stevens Dedicates, Celebrates Ruesterholz Admissions Center
The generous support of Kevin and Virginia Ruesterholz '83 has enabled Stevens to convert the historic Colonial House campus building into a modern, state-of-the-art facility that will directly support Stevens’ planned growth of its student population. To recognize and thank Virginia and Kevin for their extraordinary gift, Stevens brought together faculty, staff, alumni, trustees and special guests October 29 for a dedication and celebration of the new admissions center.

Port Authority Turns to Stevens to Bolster Coastal Resiliency
Stevens has received a five-year, $6.6 million contract from the Port Authority of New York/New Jersey to improve preparedness and resiliency at critical Port Authority infrastructure sites. Through an innovative observation and forecast system, Stevens will provide information on the potential risk and magnitude of overland flooding prior to and during significant storm events.

Reimagining the Samuel C. Williams Library
When the academic year began this fall, new and returning students arrived on campus to find the S.C. Williams Library significantly changed. Over the summer, the second floor of the library underwent major renovations that increased student study space and provided technology upgrades to accommodate laptops and mobile devices.

For Guitar Great Carlos Alomar, Technology Offers New Opportunities
By introducing new sounds and creating exciting new genres, technology is challenging traditional notions of music. And with the help of Carlos Alomar, Distinguished Artist-In-Residence and director of the Sound Synthesis Research Center, Stevens is at the forefront of this evolution.

IBM Senior Executive Says Leaders Today Are Change Agents
Students, faculty and staff welcomed the woman Fortune magazine named one of the 50 Most Influential Women in Business to the Stevens campus as part of the Provost’s Lecture Series on Women in Leadership. Linda Sanford, senior vice president of enterprise transformation at IBM, reflected on her 39 years with the company and the characteristics leaders share in guiding their organizations through challenging and uncertain periods.

Stevens Helps Create Safe Harbor for Cruise Line
As they study the impact of water on the urban environment, researchers at Stevens’ Davidson Laboratory collect real-time data and produce complex forecast models on tidal flows and currents in the New York Harbor region. For one Norwegian cruise ship, Stevens’ research is a critical resource for navigating and maneuvering one of the largest and busiest waterways in the nation.
