These images
optimize two objectives: they attempt to minimize the use of material, and
at the same
time they try to cover as much of the
area as possible. This is a multi-objective
design problem,
and in the black and white images a range of solutions are presented that have
been found
through evolutionary programming. In the color images, results of the
optimizations
are overlaid in different hues.
