JPM Training

Mastering JPM - Live and On-Demand Webcasts:

Update SAS License

Every year SAS issues us a new license file. The users need to update their file to continue using SAS. And when you the SAS installation cannot run, please browse the updated SAS license file in order to continue.
We will upload the new files on a folder accessible only by current students at Stevens Institute of Technology. If you are outside campus, please connect to Stevens VPN in order to access the folder.

  • For 2016-2017: Access the shared folder "\\FSCWINSRV02\sas\SAS_Update_License_2016-2017" with your campus domain credentials (Click My computer -> Map Network -> Input the folder path above -> OK -> use "CAMPUS\stevens_username" and myStevens password to login)
  • Find the correct folder according to your SAS version (9.3 or 9.4)
  • Find the instruction file according to your systems(x32 or x64)
  • Find the correct license basing on your systems(x32 or x64) and PC(Sever or Workstation), copy to your local PC.
  • In your own computer, go to Start -> All Programs -> SAS -> Unitilities -> Renew SAS Software.
  • For example, SAS9.3 should browse the txt file "SAS93_9BCK8T_70129144_Win_Wrkstn.txt" or "SAS93_9BCK8T_70129145_Win_X64_Wrkstn.txt", click Next. (Normally, we are using personal laptop with 64bit system. So the file should be "SAS93_9B32JC_70129145_Win_X64_Wrkstn.txt")
  • For the folder where SAS was installed, browse it to be "<SASHome>/SASFoundation/9.3" (path might be different on different computer)
  • Then click renew.

Or if you cannot install SAS:

  • Copy the updated license folder to your local PC.
  • In the install page, you need to browse to the updated license folder.
  • After that, the panel will show the license details (expiration data...).
  • You are able to continue installation.

Change java path in the cfg file: C:\Program Files\SASHome\SASFoundation\9.3\nls\en\sasv9.cfg
From -Dsas.jre.libjvm=C:\PROGRA~2\Java\JRE16~1.0_2\bin\client\jvm.dll
To -Dsas.jre.libjvm=C:\PROGRA~2\Java\JRE7\bin\client\jvm.dll

To -SET DTJ_CLASSPATH "C:\Program Files\SASHome\SASFoundation\9.3\dmine\sasmisc\dtj.jar;C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\lib\rt.jar"

Correct in the sassw.config file located in the SASHOME directory
C:\Program Files\SASHome\sassw.config
From JREHOME=C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.6.0_24\bin\java.exe

Step 3:

  • Go to C:\Program Files\SASHome\SASEnterpriseMinerWorkstationConfiguration\7.1
  • Open em.ini with notepad
