2.      Your initial password is 201+Extension_Number.  You can change it at any time.  You will have to change it the first time you log into your mailbox.  Passwords can be 4 to 16 numbers in length.

3.      When there is a new voicemail message in your mailbox, your red message lit will be solidly lit.

Logging Into Your Voicemail (For Message Retrieval And Other Features)

To retrieve your messages from outside of the office, dial the remote number to voicemail.  The number is (201)216-5005.

·        When prompted, “Mailbox?” enter your extension number followed by the pound sign (“#”).

·        When prompted, “Password?” enter your password followed by the pound sign (“#”).

From Within The Office

·        Select an idle extension.

·        Press the message key or dial extension 5005.

·        When prompted, “Mailbox?” enter your extension number followed by the pound sign (“#”).

Note: The voicemail system can be accessed externally from any touch tone telephone.

Playing Your Messages:

Once you have logged on, the system will tell you how many messages you have.

While listening to your messages, some commands that you can use by pressing the numbers on your dial pad are:

1          To rewind in 5 second increments.

2          To play.

3          To fast forward.

4          To go back to the previous message.

6          To go to the next message.

71        Reply to sender.

72            Envelop information (date, time and origin of call).

73            Forward a copy of a message to another mailbox.

76            Delete/Restore.

83        Log Off (Goodbye!)

Users should routinely delete (“76”) their messages after they are heard.  If a message has been played and not deleted, the voicemail system will not automatically delete the message.  (Although after 30 days, messages that have already been heard will be deleted for you.)

Note: For students, messages that have already been heard will be deleted for you after 7 days.

Callers can still leave messages, but to be able to hear them, you have to clean out your mailbox first.

Callers can leave messages up to 3 minutes in length.

Administrative mailboxes have 30 minutes of voicemail storage space.  Student mailboxes will also have 30 minutes, but they will be split by the number of mailboxes used by the room. (i.e. 3 residents = 10 minutes per mailbox)
