Stevens Through the Years

ImageThe duck mascot has been a part of the Stevens tradition for more than 100 years. There are countless theories about its selection, but the duck’s origins actually tie in with Stevens' student newspaper. It's true: The duck made its first appearance as "Rodo" in 1904 when The Stute was first published, then faded into obscurity for more than 60 years. It wasn't until the spring of 1972, thanks to a student referendum and a naming contest, that Attila the Duck returned and became the official Stevens mascot for good.
