Campus Domain Account Required

A Campus Domain Account is required to access some services on this page. To change or reset your password, use the Stevens Password Service.

Graduate students do not have campus domain accounts created automatically and MUST REQUEST ONE.
The request must be COMPLETED before any system can be accessed with the account.

  • Username: username or campus\username where username is your Stevens username.
  • Password: The default password varies depending on your role and entry date at Stevens.
  1. Faculty & Staff: Passwords are randomly generated, please contact the HelpDesk.
  2. Students who entered before February 2009: The default password is StevensYYMMDD where YYMMDD corresponds to your date of birth.
  3. Students who entered after February 2009: The default password is Stevens000000 where 000000 corresponds to the last 6 digits of your Campus Wide ID Number.
  • Domain: If prompted for a Logon Domain, CAMPUS should be entered.

The Stevens Wireless Network consists of three wireless networks broadcast throughout campus, both indoors and outdoors. Stevens is currently running a g-network.

  • Stevens - Faculty/Staff wireless network.
  • Stevens Student - Student wireless network.
  • Stevens Guest - Unencrypted guest network which requires https based authentication.

The two primary networks, Stevens and Stevens Student use 802.1x authentication which allows for easy and secure authentication. All that is required to connect to these networks is a machine that supports 802.1x authentication and a Campus Domain Account, there is no need to register your computer with us. Guests at Stevens

Stevens provides a wireless network for guests who visit the Stevens Campus. For information on how you can be registered to access the Stevens Guest Network, please visit Register Stevens Guest wireless account.

Desktops & Laptops

Windows

  • Windows XP Home must have Service Pack 3 installed to connect to the wireless network.
  • Please refer to our Instructions for Wireless Configuration, and select the windows operating system you're running.

Mac OS X

The following devices are not officially supported by Information Technology. While we attempt to provide assistance and support for these devices to the best of our ability, we can not guarantee compatibility and support with our wireless networks. The following documentation is provided as a reference only.

Linux

  • For information about connecting to both wired and wireless via 802.1x as well as scripts that may assist you, please visit the Linux 802.1x tutorial.

Mobile Devices

The following devices are not officially supported by Information Technology. While we attempt to provide assistance and support for these devices to the best of our ability, we can not guarantee compatibility and support with our wireless networks. The following documentation is provided as a reference only.

  • Mobile Devices - Information about common mobile devices and using them at Stevens.
    • Documented devices may include: BlackBerry, iPhone OS.

Gaming Consoles

The following devices are not officially supported by Information Technology. While we attempt to provide assistance and support for these devices to the best of our ability, we can not guarantee compatibility and support with our wireless networks. The following documentation is provided as a reference only.

Xbox 360

  • This device does not currently support 802.1x and does not have a web browser so it cannot be connect wirelessly. However, you can register the MAC address.
  • To find the MAC address of your Xbox, select System Settings, then Network Settings, then Configure Network, then Advanced Settings from the Additional Settings tab, then select Alternate Mac Address. The Wired MAC Address is the 12 digit number that you will need.
  1. Go to the Student/Faculty Web Self Services link from the myStevens page.
  2. Go to Student records, then Student MAC Addresses.
  3. Enter the 12 digit MAC address of your Xbox that you found earlier.

Playstation 3 (PS3)

  • This device does not currently support 802.1x but is capable of logging on to the Stevens Guest network.
  1. Connect to the unencrypted network, Stevens Guest.
  2. Open the embedded web browser and browse to any website, e.g. www.google.com
  3. The browser should automatically be redirected to a page prompting for your Campus Domain credentials.
  4. Once authenticated, you will be able to browse the internet for 12 hours.

Nintendo Wii

  • This device does not currently support 802.1x but is capable of logging on to the Stevens Guest network.
  1. Connect to the unencrypted network, Stevens Guest.
  2. Open the embedded web browser and browse to any website, e.g. www.google.com
  3. The browser should automatically be redirected to a page prompting for your Campus Domain credentials.
  4. Once authenticated, you will be able to browse the internet for 12 hours.

Playstation Portable (PSP)

  • This device does not currently support 802.1x and only supports IEEE 802.11b. This means that currently the PSP system is not able to connect to or detect any of the Stevens Wireless Networks.

Playstation Vita (PSvita)

  • This device does not currently support 802.1x but you can log on using the Guest Network.
  1. From the Main PSvita screen scroll down and open "Settings" then select "Network" and then " Wi-Fi Settings"
  2. Select the Stevens Guest Network. Once connected Press the Ps button in the lower left of the PSvita.
  3. Go back to the main Homescreen and open the Browser. Try to go to any website such as www.google.com
  4. The browser will automatically redirect you to a page asking for your Campus Domain credentials.
  5. Once authenticated you can browse the internet for 12 hours
