Note: This article is intended for faculty and staff who have been migrated over to the Microsoft Exchange Server. All other Stevens Users should reference the documentation on IMAP and POP3.

Devices that are configured to run iOS include Apple iPads, iPhones, and some iPods. Most of these devices should be configurable with Microsoft Exchange through native iOS exchange support. The following instructions will guide you through the generic setup of Microsoft Exchange on iOS devices.

Account Set-up Instructions

Step 1: Navigate to the Add Accounts page

From your home screen, tap the Settings icon, then tap the Mail, Contacts, Calendars option, and then tap the Add Account option.

Step 2: Add a Microsoft Exchange Account

Tap the option listed as Microsoft Exchange. This will take you to the Exchange account information page.

Step 3: Enter the appropriate account information.

Enter the appropriate account information in the fields listed below in the Exchange account information page.

  • Email: Enter your Stevens email address here in the format of yourStevensusername@stevens.edu
  • Password: Enter your current Stevens password in this field.
  • Description: Enter a brief description of this account for your own personal organization.

Tap the Next button at the top right of the page when you've finished entering all of the required information.

Step 4: Enter front-end Exchange Server information if necessary

Upon completion of Step 3, iOS will try to locate the Exchange server. If iOS is unable to locate the Server, you will be prompted with the following page asking for the following information. Fill out the fields as outlined below:

  • Email: Enter your Stevens email address here in the form of yourStevensusername@stevens.edu
  • Server: Enter exchange.stevens.edu in this field.
  • Domain: Enter CAMPUS in this field.
  • Username: Enter your Stevens Username in this field.
  • Password: Enter your current Stevens password in this field.
  • Description: Enter a brief description of this account for your own personal organization.

Tap the Next button at the top right of this screen to proceed once you have entered all of the required information.

Step 5: Synchronize Content

On this page, make sure the sliders next to Mail, Contacts, and Calendars are all switched to On. Once finished, tap the Save button at the top right of the screen.

Remove Previous non-Exchange Email Account

Step 1: Navigate to the Mail, Contacts, Calendars Screen

  • From your home screen tap on the Settings icon. This will open the Settings screen.
  • In the Settings screen tap the Mail, Contacts, Calendars listing to open the Mail, Contacts, Calendars screen.

Step 2: Remove the previous email account

  • Under the Accounts header, tap the previous account to be deleted. This will bring up the Account screen.
  • Swipe to the bottom of the screen and tap the Delete Account button. When prompted with a verification message, tap the Delete button.

The previous account will not be deleted from your iOS device.
