Ranking looks at Excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Education (STEM) for Women and Minorities

Hoboken, NJ – Stevens Institute of Technology has been ranked among the top 20 schools in the nation for women and minorities pursuing degrees in the STEM fields. The study, dubbed “Best Colleges for Women and Minorities in STEM,” was conducted by Forbes.

This ranking is intended to help students and parents determine the best university to pursue degrees in STEM education.

For David Jacome the decision to enroll in the Ph.D. program at Stevens Institute of Technology was an easy one for a number of reasons. Familiar with northern New Jersey from both his childhood and undergraduate college, Jacome was well aware of the University’s stellar reputation and commitment to students.

“I remember visiting Stevens many times,” he recently recalled. “Everyone was dedicated to making the University an exceptional place for students.”

Jacome is one of 80 Ph.D.

Hoboken, NJ – An article written by Portia Crowe, Ph.D. candidate, and Dr. Robert Cloutier of the School of Systems & Enterprises at Stevens Institute of Technology describing a significant upgrade to a major U.S. Department of Defense readiness reporting system has won the “Best of Visions” award for 2010 from the Product Development & Management Association (PDMA), publisher of Visions magazine.

Sivadasan Named to New Leadership Position Within School of Systems and Enterprises

Shobi Sivadasan, the schools SDOE Program Manager and an undergraduate lecturer in the engineering management program, has been named Director, Graduate Academic Operations. In this newly defined leadership role, Shobi will be responsible for the execution and delivery of all SSE graduate programs delivered on campus, in the regional NJ/NY area, Washington D.C., domestic and international sponsor locations, and on-line. Shobi's new organization will also include the Student and Faculty Care Center, supported by Maygan Bearden, Manager of the Center.
