Lt. Col. Husin Jazri has more than 20 years experience in information and communication systems security obtained from long military service, working with research institutions and the government agencies of Malaysia. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of CyberSecurity Malaysia, an agency under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Malaysia (MOSTI).
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from University of Hartford, Connecticut, USA, a Post Graduate Diploma in System Analysis from University of ITM, Malaysia, a Master of Science with Distinction in Information Security from Royal Holloway University of London, UK, and Master in Business Administration from Universiti Putra Malaysia. Husin Jazri is a visiting lecturer in information security at the University Technology Malaysia since 2004.
Husin is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Business Continuity Planning (CBCP). He was a member of the Board of the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, Inc. (ISC)² (since 2006 - 2008), a member of the (ISC)² Asian Advisory Board, the Chairman of the Malaysia IT Security Association (2003 – 2007), former Chairman of the Asia Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (APCERT) and currently the Chairperson of the Organization of Islamic Countries Computer Emergency Response Team (OIC-CERT). Husin is also the Chairman of the Malaysian Vocational Advisory Committee – Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Department of Skills Development, Ministry of Human Resources and Vice President of the Malaysian Society for Cryptology Research (MSCR), Institute for Mathematical Research, University Putra Malaysia (UPM).
