Ed is AT&T Senior Vice President, Chief Security Officer, and an AT&T Fellow.

Ed is presently responsible for the real-time protection of AT&T's
infrastructure from cyber attack. This includes planning, design,
operations, audit support, real-time monitoring, and incident response
for all of AT&T's networks, systems, and applications in support of
its massive wireless and wireline service infrastructure, as well as
all hosting, application, and managed services. Ed has written five
books on cyber security, has published dozens of research articles on
cyber security, and is the 2010 recipient of the AT&T Fellow award. He
has been serving as an adjunct professor at Stevens for twenty-two
years, following in the footsteps of his father, Serafino Amoroso who
taught computer science at Stevens from 1967 to 1988. Ed holds the
B.S. degree in physics from Dickinson College, and the M.S. and
Ph.D. degrees in computer science from Stevens. Ed is also a graduate
of the Columbia Business School. His work has been featured
prominently in major news outlets and he serves as a senior advisor to
many government agencies. In addition, during the past few years, Ed
has filmed hundreds of short videos on cyber security - including the
popular "security tips" series. These can be found at
